Our house on wheels

Our Offline Domino Camper Trailer is off and running!

When we decided to tackle the big lap, we were looking for a camper trailer that had the following key features:

  • Great off-road capability - able to handle all terrains with ease

  • Lightweight and easy tow

  • Able to stay ‘off the grid’ for extended periods of time

  • Uses advanced technology, but simple to understand

  • Easy to set up and pack down

  • Great outdoor and indoor facilities and equipment - kitchen, storage, fridge, electrical system, solar panels, water, ensuite shower, queen size bed, USB ports etc.

The Offline Domino has all of these features and more. We couldn’t be happier with our decision and purchase. Sam Reynolds and the team at Offline Campers are to be congratulated on developing such a high quality and innovative product. They have also been great partners with us from the initial enquiry stage through to production and delivery. It’s no wonder that the Offline Domino has won several major camper trailer awards in the past two years, including best hybrid camper of the year and awards for quality and innovation. Check it out at www.offlinecampers.com.au

Here we are set up in our first bush camp on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia.

Going off-grid

The really exciting part of travelling around Australia is the ability to get 'off the beaten track' and explore places that are remote, unique and beautiful. Our Offline Domino is powered by a 200 Ah lithium battery and roof mounted solar panels that enable us to be away from regular power sources as long as the sun is shining. We have a 75 litre drinking water tank and a 105 litre water tank for other uses as well as a Webasto diesel hot water system for almost instant hot water.

The technology is so smart, that we only need to check this one panel to see how much battery power and water is being drawn and used at any time. The series of switches make it super-easy to operate all aspects of the camper, from drawing the plumbed in water to turning the lights on and off. Gas is plumbed into the cooktop, so cooking on the stove or on the Weber BBQ is a breeze.

Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park

Located on the southern tip of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, the Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park was a wonderful first stop on the Stace Odyssey. Our first campsite was at Cable Bay Beach before moving onto Pondalowie on the western side of the peninsula. Take a look at the spectacular West Cape:

Next stop is Mount Remarkable National Park.
