Travelling along...

When travelling through this vast continent, it helps to be both adaptable and versatile.

Adaptability

As we discovered well after setting off on our odyssey, the total solar eclipse for 2023 will begin in Western Australia in April, near the small town of Exmouth and then travel across the north of the country. This means that there are literally thousands of extra people travelling in WA along with the regular nomads. It's getting harder to camp in relative peace and isolation. Also, the roads up north have been badly affected by recent heavy rains. So - hello adaptability - we have decided to turn around and cross back over the Nullarbor into South Australia.

Versatility

One of the reasons why we chose the Offline Domino Camper Trailer is its versatility in set-up. When travelling long distances across this vast country, you sometimes need to simply pull over and get some rest before continuing on your journey early the next day.

Travel Mode

The Offline Domino has two modes of set-up - (1) Travel mode and (2) Camp mode. Travel mode is ideal for those long trips (e.g. across the Nullarbor), when you need to drive for miles and have an overnight stop before pressing on. In travel mode, we can keep the trailer hitched up to the vehicle, open the rear door of the trailer and jump straight into bed for the night, whilst still being able to easily access our fridge and kitchen area. The next morning, we can make a cup of tea, have some breakfast and drive off towards our next destination. Too easy!

Setting up camp

The Offline Domino Camper Trailer has a range of set-ups that provide a very comfortable, outdoor camping experience in all conditions. We love it!

Travel Mode

This is the simplest mode for an overnight stopover. Just pull up, keep the car hitched up if you wish and open the rear trailer door to jump into bed! Perfect for when you're doing long distance travel. We've also had the opportunity to stay in some really beautiful overnight camping spots along the road.

Camp Mode with awning

When staying at a particular destination for a few nights, we usually put the trailer into camp mode and put the awning up. The trailer has an electronic mechanism for setting down and packing up the spacious tent area at the rear, which makes it a quick and easy exercise to set up camp.. The awning provides shade over the kitchen area of the camper and covers around 180 degrees of space around the camper.

Camp Mode with awning and side walls

Another great feature is the zip-on side walls that attach to the awning. We use the side walls when we want extra protection from the elements, such as harsh sun or strong winds, or if we just need some extra privacy from neighbouring campers. Once the side walls are up, we have loads of space to enjoy our camping experience.

Camping with Ensuite Tent

The camper also has an ensuite tent area for our own private shower and toilet area. This attaches to the rear side of the tent on the opposite side to the kitchen area. It is accessible from inside the tent, which makes it very convenient to use and its super-easy to set up.
